There wasnt that much out there, the main swell from last week is nearly gone and there isnt much due in till Tuesday I believe, but there were some fun, rideable waves that were coming in. I caught one of my most fun waves yet, nice drop, good turn, and Bam ! there I was, riding along it - its such a cool feeling ! While it may not be Oahu, Cali certainly has some fun spots. And it beats the hell out of Ireland ! ! !

hmmm, work beckons. I have class this evening, otherwise I would be out surfing again - oh well !

Memorial weekend

Memorial weekend is here, and it kinda sucks when you dont know many people here in LA. Everyone takes off, or spends it with their families, leaving those of us who dont have family here, well, pretty much alone. It kinda sucks really. A whole weekend, pretty much bored out of my mind. Surfed yesterday, which was pretty good - caught a couple of decent waves, and spent most of today watching old war movies and documentaries. Well, I guess thats what happens.

Ahh well. Enough of my rant....wasnt really much of one to start with - Im just bored.

The day after the day after tomorrow

hmmmm
I just got back from seeing this movie, literally 5 minutes ago. What a pity. There was so much more they could have done with that movie. I mean, the premise was good, and plausible to some degree (especially with the suspension of disbelief in action), but why the hell did they have to ruin what was a decent movie with such cheezy, staid, old lines. They were terrible. Poor Dennis Quaid. He looked strained trying to push some of them out at times.
And what was with the rushing - all the monster storms seemed to just happen, with no real build up. WHY? Out of nowhere, we see liberty getting a bath, and then the water is in the city, no real build up or anything to it. I almost felt cheated on some occasions. And of course, the cheezy role reversals - US illegal immegrants going to Mexico and crossing the Rio Grande, the VP changing his tune after being so vehemently in denial even though LA was wiped out and New York about to be.
And the subplots - anyone want to tell me what the story was about the hospitalized kid? Whatever happens to the guys in Scotland? (I did like the Manchester United remark ! :) )

The movie was entertaining, CGI was excellent, acting mediochre. Worth the $11.50 to see it? I guess so....its just such a damned pity they couldnt have done a little better with it.

Ahh - thats enough on that.

being sick aint fun

Well, I am back already. After being on a company retreat from friday morning to sunday morning (with very little sleep), and then getting on a plane sunday afternoon to go to Secaucus NJ for 2 days, then coming back to Cali for Wed and then out here to Oahu on Thursday, my body is all messed up - its like " What the fuck is going on ?? ?? ?? Are we sleeping, waking? C'mon, what the hell - make up your mind !!!"

But thats fine by me !

So another 2 days to go and then its back to the run of the mill for me.

Day 2.....and so it goes on

Well, another day over and here I find myself again at my keyboard, turning to my blog. In fairness to Verizon, their Tech guy came out and resolved the issue on Monday - not that bad I guess.

Work kinda sucks right now as one of my best friends is leaving to go elsewhere - which while Im really happy for her (as its a great move and she needed it) , Im bummed out as she is a blast. :(

Ahh well, we go on to bigger and greater things, and I know we are going to remain great friends.

And so my blog ends for today.

Day 1

Well, we all have to start somewhere - here is my start.

I guess I will see how this goes over the next few weeks / months.

Hmmmmm.....
